Susannah Ruth Headshot

Susannah Ruth, a mezzo-soprano based in Southern California, began singing at age seven under the guidance of Carol Foster at the Church of the Epiphany in Oak Park. Since then, she’s been passionately pursuing her love for music.

During her formative years, Susannah had the privilege of touring the US with the All Saints Beverly Hills choir and performing in Gilbert and Sullivan productions with the Ventura County Gilbert and Sullivan Repertoire Company.  As an adult, she’s had the pleasure of singing in the esteemed Green Umbrella concert series at Walt Disney Concert Hall, collaborating with renowned conductors such as John Adams. Additionally, she’s toured nationally and internationally with various choirs, enriching her musical repertoire and experiences.

Susannah earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music with an emphasis in Performance from California Lutheran University. Currently, she’s actively involved with several ensembles in Ventura and Santa Barbara, including the Areté Vocal Ensemble, New West Symphony Orchestra, Channel Islands Choral Association, and CLU gospel and chapel choirs. This spring, she’s excited to showcase her talents with these groups and looks forward to touring England with the Channel Islands Choral Association, where she’ll be performing Mozart, Haydn, and Rutter pieces under the baton of John Rutter.

Susannah thanks Wyant Morton and the Areté Vocal Ensemble for providing opportunities to perform diverse and exciting music with a professional ensemble.
