Soprano Amy Waters sings with a number of choirs in the LA area, including the Contemporary Choral Collective of Los Angeles (C3LA) and the Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church choir, where she acts as soprano section leader and assistant conductor. While most of her current work is in choral music, Amy also has a particular love for 20th-century art song, performing recitals featuring song cycles by composers such as Francis Poulenc and Samuel Barber. After earning her B.A. in Music and French Studies from Lewis & Clark College, Amy worked as a vocalist and conductor in Portland before relocating to Los Angeles in 2017. When she is not singing, Amy spends her time hiking in the San Gabriel mountains, working as an Emergency Medical Technician 911 responder, and playing with her two cats. Amy is very grateful to be a part of Areté Vocal Ensemble, and appreciates the opportunity to make impactful music with a group of such dedicated and talented musicians.
